Granny's Kountry Candles-July Scents of the Month

Hey everyone!!  Sorry I didn't get a post up today, I started a new job so I've been busy training, training, training!!  I promise I will get on a more regular schedule once things settle down over this way, things are a little crazy in the summer. :)  When I got done with work today my mailbox was filled with wax!!  In one of the boxes were the July scents of the month from Granny's Kountry Candles.  Every month I always order 2 of each, just to try new things.  I have never been disappointed.

Here are the descriptions from the website:

Root Beer Float-Delicious vanilla ice cream atop cold refreshing root beer.  Yumm..
Hop, Skip, & Go Naked-Cool cucumber, fresh mint, a touch of lime, and a bunch of ripe blackberries make for an amazing drink!
Carolina Peach Sangria-Everyone's favorites in one amazing drink!  Peaches, raspberries, and some home-made wine.
Watermelon Mint Margarita-Being the "original" Parrothead-Margaritas are my favorite drink, I had this for the first time at Cheeseburgers in Paradise before a Buffett concert.  AWESOME!  Summer's finest watermelon, a slight touch of mint, and of course-tequila!
Blueberry Mojito-Fresh blueberries, spearmint, lime & sugar!  Cool & refreshing!
Green Eyed Monster-Ooohh..yumm!!  Melon, rum, coconuts, lime, & pineapple!
Pink Panty Dropper-Oh my!  A bit of beer, a touch of citrus, and simple syrup!
Orange Mint Spritzer-Cool & refreshing!  Sugar, oranges, and spearmint!
Patriotic Punch-How about one?  Pina colada is the base for this magnificent scent.  That includes blueberries and cranberries too!
The DUDE-Sweet cream is the BOMB when it is accented by Kahlua.
New Orleans Hurricane-Passionfruit intermingled with rum and summer citrus.
Coconut Cola-Exactly what the name says..coconuts and the finest of colas!

I also received some more wax today and am expecting more at the end of the week.  Stay tuned!!

Granny's Kountry Candles Scoopables-Sparkling Sugar

I got some samples of some scoopables a while ago and never melted them for some reason.  I decided to order some the other day so I figured I would try one.  The texture is very creamy.  I also love the scent!!

I'm not for sure if I'll be able to post this weekend because I will be gone, my boyfriend has rodeos al weekend.  So if I don't get a chance I apologize.  I will for sure be back next week with some reviews.  I got a couple CNS's today, so stay tuned!!

Yankee Candle Haul

Today I FINALLY got to a Yankee Candle store.  The closest one is about an hour and a half away from me so I don't get there as often as I would like to.  I could spend all day in there smelling things and looking around, I had my boyfriend with so I didn't have that chance this time :).  I did end up picking some things up since I had a $20 off $45 or more coupon so I couldn't resist.

Here are the Car Jars and Vent Sticks that I picked up.  They were 3 for $12 so they turned out to be $4.00 a piece.  I got one of each in Spiced Pumpkin, Autumn Wreath, and Autumn Leaves.  I love that these have pumpkins and leaves and things like that on them.  They are perfect for fall.  Here are the descriptions from the website:
Spiced Pumpkin-Pumpkins baked in simmering spices of clove, nutmeg, and cinnamon, and sweetened with brown sugar.
Autumn Wreath-There's a cheerful fall welcome in the spicy warmth of autumn leaves and cinnamon apples.
Autumn Leaves-A vibrant medley of birch and maple leaves with pomegranate, juniper berry, and orange blossom.

And here are the tarts that I got.  I have to get some every time I go even though I have drawers and drawers full.  It's an addiction.  I got 2 Spiced Pumpkin, 2 Apple Cider, 2 Autumn Wreath, 2 Pumpkin Wreath, 1 Pumpkin Pie, 1 Pumpkin Buttercream, and 1 Sunflower.  Here are the descriptions from the website:
Spiced Pumpkin-Pumpkins baked in simmering spices of clove, nutmeg, and cinnamon, and sweetened with brown sugar.
Apple Cider-A welcoming aroma of hot cider spiced with cinnamon, cloves, and nutmeg.
Autumn Wreath-There's a cheerful fall welcome in the spicy warmth of autumn leaves and cinnamon apples.
Pumpkin Wreath-The wreath on the front door signals the change of seasons and welcomes family, friends, and visitors.  The irresistible aroma of fall pumpkins, infused with earthy oakwood, hearty cinnamon bark, and clove, warmly welcomes the season, too.  This nature-inspired scent contains apple, resinous spice, and wood notes that play beautifully off the true-to-life pumpkin fragrance.
Pumpkin Pie-Sweet pumpkin, nutmeg, molasses, cinnamon, and a hint of apple in a buttery crust.
Pumpkin Buttercream-Buttercream gets a spicy twist..a traditional recipe of pumpkin, vanilla, cinnamon, and clove.
Sunflower-A picturesque fragrance of radiant sunshine and wistful floral notes.

Overall I love everything.  I always love fall scents in general.  I'm kind of sad that the summer is almost over, but I'm also excited for the harvest season.  Thanks for reading!!

What I'm Melting Today 7/22/13

Yankee Candle Tart-Lake Sunset

Description from the Website-The serene beauty of the sun's golden rays as they dip into still blue waters and cast a soft pink tone against the sky is a subtle reminder that we need to slow down and appreciate life's quiet moments.  Sweetly musky and moody, calling to mind the descent of nightfall, this fragrance will help you pause and reflect on those special slices of the day.

I just got this one a few days ago and couldn't wait to melt it.  I love the picture on the label.  It smells very good, it's a very clean scent.  I think this one is going to become one of my favorites for late summer!!

I apologize for not getting a post up yesterday, I work as a waitress and had an 11 hour shift yesterday. So after spending the day on my feet I was too tired to post or even melt anything!!  This week I'm hoping to get a few orders and do some reviews, so stay tuned!!

What I'm Melting Today 7/20/13

Yankee Candle Tart-Juicy Watermelon

Description from the website-The ultimate summer refresher..the sweet, cooling scent of juicy watermelon

I really like this one.  I think it's a good scent for summer.  It's an artificial watermelon scent but it's still good.  It's one of those scents that makes your cheeks hurt when you smell it because it's so tart.

First Rose Girls Haul

I was lucky enough to win a test lot from Rose Girls earlier this week.  I had never tried anything from them before, but I really wanted to!!  Now I definitely understand what all the hype is about.  I was blown away by everything.  There wasn't one that I didn't like.  They have gained another customer, I will for sure be ordering the next time they open.  Here is all the scents that I got and what I think of them.  Enjoy!!

Pineapple & Brown Sugar-This is definitely something I have never smelled before, it's a little different, but good.  You can smell the pineapple in there.  It's not a faux pineapple either, it's a fresh one.  The brown sugar gives it a warmer smell, it would be something good to melt during the fall.
Margarita-I really like this one, it smells different than any other margarita scent I have smelled before.  It's really citrus-y, it is also clean smelling.
Salted Caramel Munch-Another one that I will most likely be saving for the fall.  The first thing I smell is the caramel.  It comes off a little buttery as well.  Kinda like caramel popcorn.
Bahama Fizz Type-I'm not sure if this is supposed to be a dupe of the candle from Bath & Body Works or not, but luckily I had one on hand so I got it out to compare.  They do smell pretty similar.  The candle is maybe a little more "fizzy" smelling.  I can smell a lot of pineapple, and maybe something that smells like alcohol?
Monster Cookie-This is another one that I really like.  It smells a little bit like caramel.  It is a really good bakery scent.
Cookie Dough-This is also a good fall scent.  It's really buttery.  I can also smell a little brown sugar.
Sugar Lemon Fizz-I really can't say enough about this one.  I'm usually not a big fan of lemon scents, but this one I love!!  It is a very sweet lemon, but it has just the right amount of tartness to it.  It smells a lot like the Lemon Head candy.
Dragon Fruit-I really like this one as well.  (Can you sense a trend here?) It's very fruity, perfect for the summer time.  To me it smells a little peachy, and maybe a little lemon blended in.
Cranberry Sauce-This really doesn't smell like cranberry to me, but that could just be me, it's still good.  To me it smells kinda powdery.  It smells like a soap that I have smelled before but I can't put my finger on it at the moment.
Monster Cookie Noel-This is a very good bakery scent.  It's very caramel-y, and buttery, and sweet.  Another one that will be good for fall.
Lime In Da Coconut-This one is very citrus-y.  I don't detect much coconut though.
Peach Sangria-If you know me then you know that I am a big fan of peach scents, and this one is no exception.  It is very peachy and sweet.  One of my favorites!!
Vanilla Latte-This one smells like a coffee shop.  The first thing I smell is the vanilla and then comes the coffee.  Perfect.
We've All Gone Bananas-I've never been a big fan of banana scents, so this one is my least favorite of the bunch.  I can tolerate this one though.  It's kind of hard to explain.  It's a sweet banana.  Not that fake banana smell that most of them are.
Pumpkin Muffins-I saved the best for last.  I absolutely LOVE pumpkin scents.  It's not very spicy, and it has just enough bakery in it.  It smells EXACTLY like a pumpkin muffin.

I hope you all enjoyed my first review.  I apologize I'm not very good at describing scents yet, but I hope to get better as time goes on.  If you have any questions or any requests for anything don't be afraid to let me know.  There will be many more reviews to come!!  Thanks for reading!! :)

A Little About Myself

So I guess I should start out by introducing myself.  I'm new to this blogging thing, so just bare with me.  My name is Kendra.  I am 22 years old.  I grew up in a small town in southern Minnesota.  Imagine being out on a quiet country road on a warm summer night.  The crickets chirping, the sweet smell of fresh cut hay in the air.  That is where I grew up, and I wouldn't change it for the world.  My town only has a population of 750, so when I say small, I mean small. :)  Currently I am taking online classes to earn my Associate's Degree in Veterinary Technology.  It's what I've wanted to do since I was old enough to know what it was.  I have a boyfriend that I have been with for 6 years now.  We were high school sweethearts.  He rides bulls so I enjoy traveling all over with him to rodeos.  When I'm not doing that, I enjoy fishing, hunting, going to dirt track races, and just being with my friends and having fun.  I have a dog.  He is a 1.5 year old, 80 pound German Shorthair, and he is my baby. :)  I got my first wax warmer as a gift for my 16th birthday.  I wasn't really interested in it at the time, probably because I was young and didn't have much money to spare.  About a year ago is when it all took off.  I don't know what it is about the wax that I enjoy so much, but I sure do like it!!  I hope you all enjoy my blog.  I plan on doing hauls when I get them and reviews.  Maybe even some Bath & Body Works reviews and things like that thrown in.  Thanks for reading!!
